At the end of last season, the 22-year era of Arsene Wenger at London's Arsenal club came to an end, and the Spanish Unai Emery took over the team.
Although the season started with two losses, it was followed by an impressive 22-game unbeaten streak. However, in the last 8 matches, the "Gunners" only managed to secure 3 victories, counting in all tournaments. Nevertheless, U. Emery is confident that the team is moving in the right direction and fighting for a place in the next season's UEFA Champions League.
"Adaptation and progress in the club are moving in the right direction. Our main task is to finish the season in the top four and qualify for the Champions League, but for now, we are not in that zone. The competition is huge," Emery told Sky Sports.
Despite the emerging difficulties, the Spanish coach hopes that Arsenal will return to where it belongs.
"I believe we still have enough time to achieve our goals. We knew there would be challenges in this process, but we must be prepared and make progress. The goal is to bring Arsenal back to where this club deserves to be, but it will take time," said Emery.
The "Gunners" face a crucial London derby this Saturday against the 4th-placed Chelsea team.
