Having worked at the Paris "Saint-Germain" club for two years, Unai Emery revealed the hard work Paris put in to lure Kylian Mbappe.
K. Mbappe, considered the best young player on the planet, joined PSG in 2017, although he was also linked with Madrid's "Real" club. It is believed that "Los Blancos" did not finalize the deal because they decided to trust Gareth Bale and did not want to pay more than PSG.
U. Emery, who was involved in the negotiations, revealed that K. Mbappe himself wanted to move to Madrid, but they managed to change his mind.
"Everyone at PSG did everything to get Mbappe to the team," the strategist said. "I myself spoke with Kylian and his father to convince them to stay in France."
"Kylian had offers from Real and Barcelona, but even with his eyes closed, he would have chosen Real.
Still, we convinced him to trust our project and stay in France. We had already put money on the table and finally got him," added U. Emery.
