Unai Emery made a very successful debut at the helm of Aston Villa.
In his first match as a strategist, the Birmingham club defeated Manchester United 3-1.
Aston Villa took the lead in the 7th minute of the match – Leon Bailey was the scorer. Lucas Digne doubled the score with a wonderful penalty kick in just 4 minutes.
Before the end of the first half, Man Utd reduced the deficit when Jacob Ramsey scored an own goal.
The same young Aston Villa talent at the beginning of the second half restored the two-goal lead for Aston Villa and secured the victory.
After these matches, U. Emery's team rose to the 13th place in the Premier League. The "Red Devils" remain in 5th place.
