UEFA can continue tournaments until the month of August © JumpStory

In the near future, football fans might witness some unexpected things - UEFA tournaments could last almost two summer months. As "The Times" wrote, European football leaders do not want to lose large amounts of money for sold broadcast rights due to the coronavirus-induced pandemic and are actively considering when they could extend the Champions League and Europa League battles. It is said that three scenarios are being prepared - to return in mid-May, in June, or at the end of June. If the third scenario was chosen, the battles would most likely continue until the month of August. According to UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin, a somewhat bizarre situation is also being considered - to postpone the end of the current season to the following footballing year, and only start the 2020/2021 season after the old one has finished.
