This week, UEFA Champions League group stage battles are coming to an end.

On Tuesday, the "Anfield" stadium hosted the clash between the "Liverpool" and "Napoli" clubs.

Although both teams had secured their places in the knockout stages long ago, the English still had theoretical hopes of snatching the first place in Group A.

Fans had to wait until the beginning of the second half for the first goal, when after a penalty kick, L. Ostigard redirected the ball into the goal.

However, the referee disallowed the goal after a VAR review.

Then came M. Salah's moment - the Egyptian rushed to the ball after a corner in the 85th minute and put the "Reds" ahead - 1:0.

At the very end of the match, D. Nunez scored after a corner - 2:0. However, the Italians were not too upset - due to a better head-to-head result, they secured the top spot in the group.

In another Group A match, "Ajax" from Amsterdam defeated the "Rangers" team from Glasgow 3:1 as visitors.
