On Wednesday evening, the 4th round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League concluded. In total, 16 matches were played, which were full of impressive goals. Here is the team of the week:
Iker Casillas - the best goalkeeper of the week. The 35-year-old Porto goalkeeper stopped four excellent opponent shots in the match against Club Brugge and, by keeping a clean sheet, helped his team achieve a victory.
Benjamin Henrich - the 19-year-old Bayer Leverkusen defender performed eight successful tackles against Tottenham in the match. His performance was unmatched in the Champions League this week.
Mathias Zanka - the Kobenhavn club representative played solidly against Leicester City. Zanka helped his team secure a draw against the English champions and was perhaps the best defender on the field.
Michal Pazdan - Legia Warsaw's defender deservedly maintained his status as a player who cleans everything in his penalty area. Despite conceding three goals at home, Pazdan excellently blocked some dangerous shots in the second half and helped the team achieve a sensational draw.
Benjamin Mendy - Monaco's representative excelled not only in defense but also in attack. The left-back created several dangerous attacking opportunities and even scored a goal. There was no more dangerous attacking defender in the Champions League this week.
Steven N'Zonzi - Sevilla's midfielder contributed to a crushing victory with a goal and created three goal-scoring opportunities. The Frenchman had five shots during the match, proving to be a key player in the victory.
Ilkay Gundogan - the Manchester City midfielder scored two goals against Barcelona and helped achieve a 3-1 victory. The German was sharp in front of the Catalan goal and handled the ball well.
Kevin De Bruyne - another Manchester City player who strongly contributed to the triumph. De Bruyne scored a great goal from a penalty kick, was active in the opponent's half, and did a lot of work in the midfield.
Mesut Ozil - probably the author of the most beautiful goal of this season in the Champions League. The master of assists scored a winning goal against Ludogorets after an impressive run. In addition, four of the last Arsenal goals in the Champions League were scored by the German.
Gareth Bale - Real Madrid's leader scored an impressive goal against Legia in the 1st minute and provided an assist to Karim Benzema. Bale was everywhere on the field, but his efforts alone were not enough to secure a victory.
Antoine Griezmann - the representative of Atletico Madrid was the best striker of the Champions League this week. Two goals by the Frenchman determined Atletico's victory against Rostov. Griezmann was very active in attack and could have scored at least two more goals.
