However, it may be that this format is counting its last years. "The Times" announces that UEFA is considering changing the format of the Champions League knockout stage, which will mostly affect the semi-finals: - Only one match will be played in the semi-finals; - The semi-finals and final will be played in the same week in the same city; - The quarter-finals and round of 16 will still consist of two matches. The major European clubs support this idea, according to "The Times". The new format would be called "Final Four".
