UEFA decision: "Rubin" will not be able to play in European tournaments for two years

UEFA has decided to punish the Russian football club for not complying with financial obligations. Kazan's "Rubin" will not be able to play in the Champions League or Europa League for the next two years.

The Russian club did not comply with UEFA's "Financial Fair Play" rules and was punished for it. However, "Rubin" will be able to appeal such UEFA decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

This is not the first time Kazan's club has faced penalties from UEFA. In 2014, they were fined 6 million euros for the same rule violations.

Most recently, "Rubin" played in the Europa League group stage in the 2015-2016 season, and in the Champions League in 2009-2010.

In this season of the Russian championship, Kazan's football team is currently in 5th place and has accumulated 17 points after ten rounds.
