UEFA finally announced the results of the survey to select the best players of 2018.
Football fans from all over the world could choose the best players from each position on the uefa.com website. In total, more than 1.8 million people participated in the survey.
In the goalkeeper position, fans' favorite was Barcelona's representative Marc-Andre ter Stegen, surpassing colleagues such as Jan Oblak, Keylor Navas, and David De Gea.
In defense, representatives of Real Madrid dominate, but this is not a big surprise - the "whites" triumphed in the Champions League last season. Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, and Marcelo made the list, joined by Liverpool's defensive pillar Virgil van Dijk.
There are some surprises in the midfield - alongside the best football player on the planet Luka Modric, two Chelsea representatives are placed: Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante. They left behind players like Toni Kroos, Kevin De Bruyne, and others.
The trio of forwards consists of Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi. There is no place for either Mohamed Salah or Neymar.
