UEFA: FIFA will kill football

UEFA urges FIFA to postpone Friday's presidential elections and also emphasizes that corruption is deeply rooted in this federation.

On Wednesday, reports emerged that seven high-ranking FIFA officials had been arrested on corruption charges. Sepp Blatter, who is not highly regarded, is most likely to retain the presidency for another term on Friday.

"Today's events at FIFA are appalling, and such things only tarnish football", - says in a statement by UEFA. - UEFA is shocked and saddened."

"These events show that corruption is deeply rooted in FIFA. This federation must take action and implement reforms, as such things can ultimately destroy football," - add in the statement.
