UEFA on Thursday announced the best players of the past Champions League season. Three players were selected for each position.
The best goalkeeper candidates are Alisson, Hugo Lloris, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen. There is no doubt that this award will go to the Brazilian, who triumphed in the tournament with Liverpool.
The best defender award contenders are Liverpool representatives Virgil van Dijk and Trent-Alexander Arnold, as well as former Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt.
The trio of best midfielders includes Frenkie de Jong, Christian Eriksen, and Jordan Henderson.
The best forwards of last season are Lionel Messi, Sadio Mane, and Cristiano Ronaldo. Both Dusan Tadic and the other two Liverpool forwards were left out.
For the best player of the season award in the Europa League, Eden Hazard, Olivier Giroud, and Luka Jovic are contenders to receive it.
