Bulgarian media reported that UEFA has disqualified Razgrad's "Ludogorec" and Bulgarian national team player Marcelinho from three matches. This means that the 32-year-old naturalized Brazilian will not be able to play with Marijampolė's "Sūduva" in the UEFA Europa League qualifying round. Such a punishment for the attacking defender of the Razgrad team was due to the red card received during the Champions League qualifying match against Beer Sheva's "Hapoel". Marcelinho lost control and hit the opponent in the face during referee-added time (95 min.). Before that, Marcelinho scored one of his team's 3 goals, but it was not enough for the team to advance to the elite tournament's knockout stage. The Israeli club won at home 2-0, while they lost 1-3 away, but advanced to the next stage due to the away goal scored. Since 2011, Marcelinho, who plays in Razgrad, is the all-time leader of the team in terms of matches played in the Bulgarian championship (163) and European cup tournaments (47), as well as in the number of goals scored in national competitions (53). Marcelinho is already the second loss in the "Ludogorec" team after they dropped out of the Champions League. This week, the Razgrad team's biggest star, Jonathan Cafu, was acquired by the French team "Bordeaux" for €7.5 million. Both Cafu and Marcelinho have played in all four of Ludogorec's Champions League matches this season - against Vilnius' "Žalgiris" and "Hapoel". In the Lithuanian capital, Marcelinho was also entrusted with the role of team captain. Furthermore, after losing the Super Cup match this week, the head coach of Razgrad's team, Georgi Dermendzhiev, left. On Monday, "Ludogorec" promises to introduce a new team strategist. You can see the episode earning a red card from 7 min 10 sec onwards.
