UEFA President A. Ceferin re-elected for a second term

The 51-year-old lawyer Aleksandras Čeferinas, originally from Slovenia, will continue to lead the largest European football community.

In today's vote, A. Čeferinas was elected for a second term. The Slovenian took the helm of UEFA in September 2016, replacing the scandal-ridden Michel Platini.

A. Čeferinas will lead the UEFA organization for at least another four years.

Prior to controlling Slovenian football, A. Čeferinas harshly spoke out against the desire of the major European clubs to establish a Super League during a meeting. According to him, all these clubs would lose their status as European giants, so they must trust the UEFA project.

A. Čeferinas also stated that he would not support FIFA's idea of creating a new World Cup, with a total contract value reaching up to 25 billion euros.
