Ukrainians started preparing for a duel with Lithuania.

On Monday, the Ukrainian national football team gathered at a training camp in Kharkiv. Here, on Friday, they will play EURO 2020 qualifying match against Lithuania, and on Monday they will host Portugal in Kyiv.

In the 5 matches, Ukrainian footballers have gathered 13 points, so a victory against Lithuania would bring them even closer to qualifying for the continental finals. Portugal has 8 points with one less match played, while Serbia has 7 points after 5 matches.

Before announcing the squad list, Ukrainian national team coach Andriy Shevchenko stated that only a victory against Lithuania would satisfy him.

Lithuanian national team coaches found out about goalkeeper Emilijus Zubas' injury at the last moment, so they called up Džiugas Bartkus to replace him. Ukrainians had similar problems - last week, they replaced the injured Denys Boyko with Yuriy Pankiv.

On Monday, Ukrainian national team members trained in the gym, and on Tuesday they will hold an open training session at "Metalist" stadium for the fans.

The first match between Lithuania and Ukraine teams on September 7 in Vilnius ended with a secured victory for Ukrainians 3:0. The goals for the winners were scored by Oleksandr Zinchenko (7 min.), Marlos (27 min.), and Ruslan Malinovskyi (62 min.).

On Monday, Lithuanian national team members also gathered at their training camp in Vilnius, where they will train at the LFF stadium.
