Unexpected start: coach left "Marseille" after the first match

In the French championship, there was a completely unexpected turn of events. On Saturday, the "Ligue 1" championship started, and immediately after that, the coach of Marseille's "Olympique" left his post. "Olympique" lost 0:1 to "Caen" in the match, and after that Marcelo Bielsa announced that he was resigning.

The 60-year-old football specialist, who is linked with a vacant position in the Mexican national team, started only his second season with "Olympique" on Saturday. Last season, he led the team to fourth place.

Before coming to the press conference, M.Bielsa handed in his resignation to the club president, the BBC wrote. "I am finishing my work here. I am returning to my country," said the Argentine. M.Bielsa had not informed the players about this.

M.Bielsa coached the Bilbao "Athletic" club from 2011 to 2013. He has worked with the Argentina and Chile national teams, as well as several South American clubs.
