Unfulfilled X. Alonso's Treble: "It hurts right now, but it could be useful

Xabi Alonso with Leverkusen's "Bayer" was just a hair away from the best club season in Europe of all time, considering all clubs. The season was already one of the best in history, but it could have been even better.

In the Europa League final, "Bayer" had no chance against "Atalanta" - 0:3. A few days later, the German Cup was fought for, but one title was missing for the "treble".

After the season, X. Alonso commented on the missed "treble": "At the moment it really hurts. It hurts a lot. Such moments cannot be forgotten.

However, this feeling can be useful in my coaching career. It can help me develop more than winning the "treble".

X. Alonso will coach Leverkusen's team again next season, which has returned to the UEFA Champions League.
