The Berlin "Union" team, which started the season excellently, fell into a playing pit and suffered their third consecutive defeat in the local championship.

In Sunday's Bundesliga match, "Union" played another very poor game and suffered a 4:0 defeat to "Freiburg" away.

The hosts started the match with two quick goals. Vincenzo Grifo scored in the 4th and 6th minutes.

"Union" had a golden opportunity to reduce the deficit in the 10th minute, but Robin Knoche failed to convert the penalty kick.

Furthermore, the visitors' defender Diogo Leite committed a foul in his penalty area in the 19th minute and received a red card. Vincenzo Grifo converted the set piece and completed his hat-trick.

The fourth goal for the hosts came in the 45+1 minute. Michael Gregoritsch scored after Ritsu Doan's pass. 

"Union" scored a consolation goal in the 84th minute. Sven Michel converted a penalty kick.

After these matches, "Freiburg" climbed to the second position in the standings, trailing the first-placed "Bayern" by 4 points. Meanwhile, "Union" currently occupies the fifth position.
