At 19:30 Lithuanian time, the seventh match of the 18th round of the English Premier League took place.
Manchester City faced Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola's team continued their record-breaking winning streak and defeated their opponents from London with a score of 4-1.
The leaders of the English league dominated from the very end of the match, and the first goal came in the 14th minute. Ilkay Gundogan scored a somewhat unexpected goal with a header after Leroy Sane's corner kick.
In the first half, the City team did not show all their potential and bombarded their opponents from the capital in the second half.
In the 70th minute, Kevin De Bruyne scored a great goal on the counter-attack. Just five minutes later, Gabriel Jesus had the chance to score, but the Brazilian failed to convert the penalty earned by De Bruyne.
However, the hosts did not falter after this unsuccessful episode, and a stunning result was achieved in the 80th minute when Raheem Sterling scored.
The same Englishman managed to score another goal before the end of the match and secure a double for himself. However, in the last minute of added time, Tottenham managed to score a goal of their own, with Christian Eriksen finding the back of the net.
Manchester City, who have now achieved their 16th consecutive victory, continue their impressive performance in the English league. With 52 points, they hold a 14-point advantage over their closest pursuers.
After this defeat, Tottenham dropped back to seventh place.
