"Napoli" club footballers are experiencing a real nightmare: at the moment they have to not only deal with painful losses, but also live in constant fear.
According to the Italian media, the players of the "Napoli" team have become targets of their own fans. The so-called "Ultras" are dissatisfied not only with the results, but also with the refusal to obey the club's management.
Last week, "Napoli" president Aurelio De Laurentiis ordered the team to stay at the training base after the draw with "Salzburg" and not return home until the next "Serie A" league match, but the players and coaching staff did not obey this decision.
This not only infuriated the club management, but also the fans themselves.
At the moment, most of the players are in national team camps, but the club president's work is not less from that - he is deciding how to punish the players who did not follow his orders. It is said that A. De Laurentiis is considering deducting 25 percent from the upcoming salaries of the players.
However, the players themselves are now least concerned about their pay - they have started to fear for their own and their families' safety.
"Corriere dello Sport" previously reported that fans found the homes of Allan and Piotr Zielinski and attempted to seize their property. Allan's wife wrote on social media that they were constantly harassed in the streets and attempted break-ins at home.
The beloved Napoli fans Kalidou Koulibaly and Lorenzo Insigne can no longer enjoy life in Naples. The mentioned source adds that K. Koulibaly hired security for himself and his family, while L. Insigne was left without a wife, who simply had to flee the city.
Last week, there was also information that fans broke into the training base and came face to face with the main team players. It is said that five or even more players are ready to pack their bags in January and leave the club.
The "Napoli" team, without achieving a victory in the last five matches, currently holds an unusual seventh place in the Italian championship. After the national team break, they will face matches against "Milan" and "Liverpool", from which, as the country's media reports, Carlo Ancelotti's future will depend.
