The prosecutor's office of the Italian city of Florence intends to reopen the case of the unexpected death of 31-year-old footballer Davide Astori. The Florence newspaper "La Nazione" reported that the doctor who treated the player likely falsified documents.
D. Astori died in March 2018. He was in a hotel with his "Fiorentina" team mates preparing for a match against the "Udinese" team. The sudden and unexpected cause of his death was recognized as D. Astori's congenital heart defect.
However, "La Nazione" reported that during the last visit to the doctor Giorgio Galanti, no tests were performed on the footballer, although there are records of it in the documents. It is suspected that D. Astori was improperly treated.
It is speculated that all these treatment documents were falsified.
Doctor Antonino Nastasi, who is interested in this story, has no doubt that D. Astori's medical examination and treatment documents were falsified. Suspicious signatures of the doctor G. Galanti and another colleague have been found on the falsified documents.
