Uruguay narrowly defeated Egypt, who played without M. Salah, at the end of the match (VIDEO)

At the World Cup - a very dramatic victory for Uruguay. In the second match of Group A, the Uruguay national team defeated Egypt 1-0 only at the end of the game.

In these matches, Egypt did not have the help of Mohamed Salah, who was celebrating his 26th birthday. The Egyptian team, playing defensive football, gave several chances to the Uruguayans, but they only scored in the 89th minute when Uruguay defender Jose Gimenez scored the winning goal.

In the first half of the game, neither team created any dangerous attacks, and the game was rather sluggish and slow. The Egyptian national team defended with all their might and tried to counterattack, but to no avail.

The only chance the Uruguay national team created in the first half was from a corner, but Luis Suarez did not take advantage of the perfect opportunity and missed the goal from a few meters away. Both teams went to halftime with the scoreboard still showing zeros.

L. Suarez had another perfect opportunity at the start of the second half, but this time the Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy saved his team.

Another ideal opportunity came for L. Suarez in the 74th minute, but he did not take the shot and tried to dribble past the goalkeeper. However, M. El Shenawy simply took the ball into his hands and extinguished another fire in front of his goal.

In the 89th minute, Uruguay took the lead once again, and once again the opportunity fell to E. Cavani, but his penalty shot hit the post. The ball bounced in front of the goal, but the Egyptians were the first to reach it, once again saving the day. However, it didn't last long.

Already in the 89th minute, Uruguay managed to take the lead with a precise header by J. Gimenez, who became the hero of this match.

In the remaining time, neither team created very dangerous opportunities and the match ended with a difficult victory for Uruguay.
