Birmingham decided not to take advantage of the opportunity to acquire the American national team's defender Michael Bradley, so he is returning to Germany to continue his career with Borussia Mönchengladbach.
The footballer was loaned to the English team in January, but during this time he only played four matches.
"The experience gained in Birmingham will definitely come in handy," said Bradley. "But you don't want to play where you are not wanted."
However, Bradley did not rule out the possibility that Borussia could try to sell him.
