The holders of the Dutch Cup, known as the "Amstel Cup" on behalf of the sponsors, remained the team "Utrecht" - they won the final for the second year in a row.

On Sunday at the De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam, "Utrecht" faced "Twente" eleven. For both teams, it was the last chance to achieve something, as they were in the middle of the table in the league - in 10th and 8th places respectively.

The match was not beautiful, but there was a good atmosphere in the stadium. At the beginning of the match, "Twente" was close to scoring, but goalkeeper Rene Ponkas played successfully. In the 66th minute, Van den Bergh scored with a great shot from 25 meters. Tension grew, and after ten minutes the player of "Twente" Jeroen Heubach was sent off for a foul on the opponent.

For "Utrecht," it was the third cup victory in the club's history. The cup was first won in 1985, then in 2003, losing in the final a year ago.
