V. Čeburinas – the best coach of September in the "TOPsport A League"

"TOPsport A league” had a hint of intrigue in the race for gold a while back, but Vilnius "Žalgiris” completely extinguished it last month.

After tallying the votes from championship commentators and podcast hosts, the manager of the capital club Vladimir Čeburinas was recognized as the best coach of September. This is already the third such accolade for the 59-year-old football specialist from Kazakhstan, who was previously named the best coach of the month in April and June.

In September, the Žalgiris team celebrated three victories in four matches in the Lithuanian championship – they defeated Gargždų "Banga” 2:1, crushed "Kauno Žalgiris” 5:0, and beat Alytaus DFK "Dainava” 3:1. They also played a 1:1 draw against Kauno rajono "Hegelmann” in front of their fans.

In the tournament table, Žalgiris leads the last opponent by a margin of 10 points. Even if the blue-whites win all of their remaining five matches, "Žalgiris” will still need 6 points to reclaim the title.

In March, the best coach was Andrius Lipskis, the manager of Telšiai "Džiugas,” while Andrius Skerla, the strategist of "Hegelmann,” was named best in May and July, and Saulius Širmelis, working at "Kauno Žalgiris,” received the honor in August.
