Valdas Dambrauskas was just one step away from the UEFA Champions League group stage. The team led by the Lithuanian coach Razgardas, "Ludogorets," on Tuesday, eliminated the Piraeus club "Olympiacos" after an 11-meter penalty shootout and advanced to the final qualifying round. The first leg of the match ended in a 1:1 draw, and on Tuesday, the teams once again failed to determine the winner during regular time, which ended in a 2:2 draw. Despite extra time, neither team managed to score, so it came down to penalty kicks. The Bulgarians were more successful, converting all four penalties. In the final qualifying round, V. Dambrauskas' team will face the "Malmo" team. If "Ludogorets" stumbles in the decisive Champions League stage, they will be playing in the Europa League in the upcoming season.
