Valdo Dambrauskas' dream of stepping into the group stage of the UEFA Champions League is on the verge of collapse. The team led by the Lithuanian, Ludogorets, started the last qualifying round series with a defeat - they lost to Malmo players with a score of 0:2 in the away match. The hosts dictated their terms from the start of the match, and the first goal was scored in the 26th minute by Veljko Birmančević. Malmo secured the victory in the 61st minute with a goal by Jo Inge Berget. The second leg match will take place in Bulgaria after a week. If V. Dambrauskas fails to make it into the Champions League, his team would automatically move into the group stage of the Europa League. Other results: Benfica 2:1 PSV, Young Boys 3:2 Ferencvaros.
