Now former Spanish national team coach Vicente Del Bosque calls on Madrid's "Real" club to keep young Marco Asensio in its ranks and to make use of the Spanish talent.
In 2014, "Real" acquired the promising Spanish football talent from "Mallorca." Many Spanish clubs were competing for his signature, but the "Whites" got him for 3.9 million euros. Asensio completed the 2014-15 season in Mallorca, and last season he spent on loan at Barcelona's "Espanyol" team.
This summer, the 20-year-old footballer is preparing for the new season in the United States with "Real" and is included in Zinedine Zidane's plans. According to V. Del Bosque, M. Asensio is now the brightest talent in Spanish football.
"We planned to take him to France for the European Championship, but due to tough competition, we decided not to include him in the final squad," the coach said.
"Now he is the greatest talent in Spanish football. Marco is an exceptional player, but it is not for me to decide whether he should play in the main "Real" team," added V. Del Bosque.
Playing in an attacking and winger position, M. Asensio had to convince the head coach of "Real" in the first friendly game against PSG, where the Spaniard played for 45 minutes.
