The coach of the Spanish national team, Vicente Del Bosque, believes that if Andrés Iniesta finishes his career without receiving a single "Ballon d'Or" award, it would be unfair.
This weekend, the midfielder helped the "Barcelona" team win their second consecutive Spanish King's Cup with a great performance.
Overall, the 32-year-old footballer has won 28 club trophies. In addition, he has twice triumphed in the European championship and once in the World Cup with the national team.
However, he has never been recognized as the best player in the world - he finished second in the 2010 rankings and third in 2012.
"It would be unfair if Iniesta ends his career without a 'Ballon d'Or' trophy despite all his remarkable achievements," Del Bosque told COPE's El Partido de las 12 show.
"On the other hand, it is difficult because he has to compete with players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo," he added.
This season, the Spaniard scored one goal and made four assists in 44 matches in all competitions.
