During Tuesday's meeting of the Executive Committee of the Lithuanian Football Federation, the coach of the Lithuanian men's national team was approved. By the decision of the Executive Committee, Valdas Ivanauskas, who had been leading the national team until now, will continue to work with the team. The contract with the coach will be signed for one cycle. The coaching staff has not been confirmed yet, and it may change compared to the previous one. Coach Valdas Ivanauskas has been in charge of the national team since August of this year, and after the last friendly match with Kuwait, his contract expired. During the Executive Committee meeting, the coach presented his and the staff's work report and future plans. "After long discussions, evaluating all available information and the coach's report, it was decided that three months is too short a period to objectively assess the coach's work, so the Executive Committee decided to extend the contract with the coach for another year. In the middle of December, the draw for the Nations League will take place, after which the coach will be given goals to achieve. With the addition of a new technical director to the team, who will further evaluate the situation, additional necessary changes will be made in the future to achieve the team's goals," said LFF President Tomas Danilevičius. Next year, the Lithuanian national team will compete in the UEFA Nations League, and the draw for this tournament will take place on December 16.
