Temporarily leading Edinburgh, Lithuanian Valdas Ivanauskas told the Scottish media that he would be happy if the former Scotland national team strategist Berti Vogts took over the club's helm, while he himself remained as the German's assistant.
The former Scotland national team coach is one of the newest candidates for the position of the "Hearts" coach.
"He was the coach of the Scotland national team, so he knows the football of this country. Of course, I would like to work with him," said the Lithuanian. "He is very experienced, strong, and strict."
Berti Vogts took over the Scotland national team in early 2002 but resigned in November 2004 after a series of failures.
The German became a World Champion as a player in 1974, and 22 years later, he won the European Championship as a coach.
"He is a very famous coach, but every day many famous coaches are linked to 'Hearts,'" continued Valdas Ivanauskas, who worked as an assistant to the Lithuanian national team strategist Algimantas Liubinskas. "I can think of many coaches who would be suitable for 'Hearts' and are currently unemployed, but Vladimir Romanov did not ask for my opinion."
