One of the most coveted young defenders in Europe, Belgian Vincent Kompany, says he is satisfied that Brussels rejected Milan's offer.

The Brussels club did not accept the 12 million euros offer from Inter for their young talent, who recently extended his contract with the Belgian club.

"The club didn't agree and that's already in the past," said V. Kompany. "By raising my price, Anderlecht wants to say that I am not for sale."

"I'm not in a hurry. I like Anderlecht and Brussels," continued the 19-year-old defender. "I live in the present and I'm preparing for the upcoming season with Anderlecht. I extended my contract with the club because I believe I can progress here."

In 2003, V. Kompany attracted the attention of European giants by playing excellently in the UEFA Champions League with Anderlecht. His excellent performance at the age of 17 allowed him to debut in the Belgian national team in October 2003, and since 2004 V. Kompany has been a key player in the national team.
