Commenting on yesterday's draw with Fiorentina, Milan coach Vincenzo Montella said that his players lacked courage.
"Rossoneri" failed to score goals, and were one step away from defeat when Josip Ilicic missed a penalty from 11 meters. However, he was inaccurate.
A victory against "Viola" would have allowed the "fashion capital" club to rise to third place in Serie A, but now they will have to settle for seventh place.
"In the first half of the match, we lacked courage," Montella told Mediaset Premium. "Fiorentina was slightly superior then, but overall, in my eyes, the match was equal."
"We left them too much space. We were afraid, while I hoped for more. In the second half, we created more chances and I liked the desire to win."
"However, this test was only passed satisfactorily. We must pass more tests."
The next Italian championship match for Milan will be against Sassuolo on Sunday.
