Adanas "Demirspor" head coach Vincenzo Montella revealed why he decided to part ways with controversial striker Mario Balotelli, who moved to the "Sion" team a few weeks ago.
"Last season he contributed a lot to the team's goals scored, and we, in turn, gave the player the opportunity to regain good sporting form and return to the Italian national team.
However, Mario wanted to play closer to home.
"Sion's" offer (2.6 million euros) suited the club and was acceptable to the player himself, so we decided to say "goodbye,"" - the specialist clarified.
The team that sold M. Balotelli, "Demirspor," did not weaken and after seven rounds is tied for first place in the Turkish championship with Istanbul's "Galatasaray."
