The head coach of the Lithuanian men's national team Valdas Urbonas presented the team's lineup for the first window of this year's national team matches, during which the Lithuanians will play three games. The Lithuanian national team will gather at the camp on Monday, and on Tuesday they will travel to Kosovo, where they will play friendly matches with the local national team in Pristina on Wednesday evening. After that, the team will travel straight to Switzerland, where they will start their journey in the 2022 World Cup qualifying matches this Sunday. After the match in St. Gallen, the Lithuanians will return home and on Wednesday at the Vilnius LFF Stadium they will face one of the group favorites, the Italian national team. After a break, the national team coaching staff invited the national team captain Fedor Chernykh and Nerijus Valskis, who plays in India, to the Lithuanian national team. Meanwhile, the most representatives in the national team this time will be from the "Kauno Žalgiris" club - Martynas Dapkus, Gratas Sirgėdas, and Egidijus Vaitkūnas were invited from the same team to the national team. "We are starting a new stage with the World Cup qualifying matches. A strong group awaits us, strong opponents, but in the current situation, there can be no easy matches for us. We are not the favorites, but we will try to fight for points in every match, we will try not to give away points easily, and we would like to climb at least one step higher on the tournament table. The goal is to take at least 4th place in the table of five teams," said the head coach of the national team, Valdas Urbonas, at the press conference.
