V. Urbonas: "My goal is to gather motivated, "hungry" and slightly crazy players" © JumpStory

Leading up to the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Belarus and Albania, the head coach of the national team Valdas Urbonas presented the composition of the Lithuanian national team. "I am glad that we achieved victory in Albania, I believe that both the players and the fans are in good spirits. We are preparing for the upcoming matches - there will be friendly matches against Estonia and two home matches against Belarus and Albania. There have been some changes in the squad - D. Bartkus, L. Klimavicius, R. Baravykas, D. Antanavicius, and T. Eliosius will not be there, instead E. Zubas, A. Novikovas, P. Golubickas will return to the team. We will also have two national team debutants - V. Gaspuitis and G. Paulauskas. It is important to select not only the national team roster - the best players are not always necessary, because not all of them will necessarily make a competitive team next time. My goal is to gather motivated, 'hungry,' and slightly crazy players. Those who would be ready for the matches," V. Urbonas said at a press conference.
