V. Valdes officially announced the end of his career.

The European and world football champion Victor Valdes has ended his career. This was announced by the Spanish football "La Liga" account on Twitter. "V. Valdes hangs up his gloves. All the best to him in the future," the statement reads.

Information that Valdes decided to end his footballer career appeared back in August 2017, but there was no official confirmation.

The 35-year-old Spaniard represented Barcelona club from 2002 to 2014. With the Catalans, he became the Spanish champion six times and won the UEFA Champions League tournament three times.

Valdes also played for the English team Manchester United and the Liege team Standard in Belgium. He last defended the goal of the English club Middlesbrough.

In the Spanish national team, Valdes played 20 matches. In 2010, he became a world champion, and two years later he triumphed in the European championships.
