Late on Sunday evening at the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) awards ceremony held in London, the best players of this season's Premier League were announced. The main title of the best football player went to Liverpool's defensive pillar Virgil van Dijk. At 27, the Dutchman's defense became hard to break down, impressing experts with his performance. V. van Dijk played in all 36 matches of the Premier League this season. For Liverpool, he managed to keep his goal "dry" a staggering 20 times. In the battle for this award, Van Dijk surpassed Raheem Sterling, who nevertheless did not leave empty-handed - he won the award for the best young player. The 24-year-old Englishman scored 17 goals and made 12 assists in 32 league matches this season. Note that the team of the year was composed of the following players: Ederson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Aymeric Laporte, Van Dijk, Andrew Robertson, Paul Pogba, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva, Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, and Sadio Mane.
