V. van Dijk's failure in Manchester does not signify: "There is no point in panicking"

One of the best defenders on the planet, Virgil van Dijk, admitted that he expected a completely different game in Manchester, but emphasized that "Liverpool" team does not need to start panicking.

"Liverpool" suffered their first defeat of the season at the "Etihad" stadium on Thursday, and "Manchester City" narrowed the gap to the league leaders to four points after the victory.

"We knew what a tough season awaited us and that we would have ups and downs. These matches were exactly that down", - the Dutchman said to "Sky Sports" after the game.

"We need to continue our work and try to bounce back in the next matches, which we will clearly try to do", - continued the defender.

"It was a very intense game. The opponents won and we are very disappointed about it, but we need to quickly forget about it and try to recover physically for the next matches.

It's sad that we lost, but there is no reason to start panicking. It was just another very important match in the league for us. Now the right thing to do is to congratulate "City" on the win and focus on moving forward", - reassured V. van Dijk the team.
