The defender of the Spanish national team and the London team Asier Del Horno can return to his homeland next season - the possibility of acquiring this football player is actively being considered by the team that finished third last season.
25-year-old Del Horno competed in the Spanish "La Liga" before moving to Chelsea, representing a club. After moving to London, the Spaniard failed to establish himself in the main Chelsea lineup, so lately there have been talks about wanting to change teams.
These rumors were further strengthened by the fact that the London club does not hide the fact that they are looking for a strong left-back, which means that in this case Del Horno's future in the club becomes very uncertain. Meanwhile, the Valencia team's left-back is now a perfect purchase, as the team was left by Brazilian Fabio Aurelio after the season, and the other player in this position, Amedeo Carboni, ended his football career and became the team's sporting director.
It is precisely Carboni who recently traveled to England to negotiate with Chelsea officials about the player's transfer. However, it should be very difficult for the Spanish team to attract Del Horno to their club, as Chelsea is asking for 8 million euros for the player, which is the amount they spent to acquire him from Athletic.
Meanwhile, Valencia can only offer about half of this amount at the moment. The Spanish team also cannot offer the player's salary that is even somewhat close to the amount that Del Horno receives in England.
Despite everything, Valencia president Juan Soleras stated that the team is ready to do everything for Del Horno to wear their jersey next season.
"Del Horno is a very interesting player and we have been watching him for a long time and hope to see him in our team next season," Soleras told one of the Spanish newspapers.
