Before the weekend Premier League match, Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal once again stressed the need to strengthen the team's attack in January.
Lately, the "Red Devils" have been struggling to break through opponents' defense - they have only scored two goals in four matches in all competitions.
"We need to score more often. I agree with that, but we just need to score one more goal than our opponents," said the Dutchman.
"We lack creative and fast players in the final third. I've been saying that for five months now and I'm reminding it now."
Van Gaal agreed with the idea that the team's season goals are the highest, and this puts additional pressure on the players.
"When you play for Manchester United, you believe that you must be at the top of the Premier League. It's a tradition of the club.
When I arrived here, the team was only seventh, last year we were much closer to the goal. And this year - even closer. Of course, there are still many matches left, but we play much more steadily, we have more points and concede fewer goals," van Gaal insisted.
