The head coach of "Manchester United" Louis van Gaal revealed that the "Red Devils" will have to do without the services of striker Robin van Persie at the start of the season.
The 30-year-old player missed the entire pre-season preparation as he played until the end of the World Cup. L. van Gaal decided that the Dutchman needed some extra rest.
This means that R. van Persie will miss the friendly match against "Valencia" on August 12th and will not be able to help the team at the beginning of the English "Premier" league season.
"Robin will start training on Monday, but he will not play against "Valencia". I also think he won't be able to play at the start of the "Premier" league. People may criticize me for this decision, but I know what players who have rested for three weeks need. Hopefully, Robin will be back very soon, but at the moment he can't play," van Gaal said.
In the first English "Premier" league match, "Man Utd" will face "Swansea" on August 16th.
