Donning the Istanbul "Galatasaray" jersey, Didier Drogba announced that he will be parting ways with the Turkish champions this summer.
The 36-year-old veteran will leave "Galatasaray" after his contract expires. It is still unclear whether the African will definitively bid farewell to his football career.
The former London "Chelsea" striker arrived in Istanbul in the winter of 2013, when he decided to leave the Chinese "Shanghai Shenhua" club.
"Galatasaray" will always be in my heart. I am very proud to have represented this team," said the Ivory Coast national team player in an interview with the club's official TV channel.
"I didn't come to this team for money. In that case, I would have stayed in China, but I didn't. I came to Turkey to play football and I am very happy that I did," added Drogba.
The experienced forward is ready to travel to Brazil with the national team to defend the honor of the Ivory Coast in the World Cup.
