Ryan Giggs has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

The 38-year-old veteran will have spent more than half of his life - 22 years - in the ranks of the 'Red Devils'. He will also be able to boast of being the only footballer to score at least one goal in every Premier League season since 1992.

"Ryan is an amazing player. In every training session and match, he is an example to others," said coach Sir Alex Ferguson.

Giggs himself said: "When I signed my first contract, I certainly didn't think I would stay here for 22 years. I feel good and I believe I can give something to this team as we fight for trophies."

This season, in the national championships, the midfielder scored once in 16 matches.
