Vice President of the Spanish Football Federation detained in corruption case

Spanish Football Federation vice president Andreu Subiesas was detained in a corruption case.

A. Subiesas, former president of the Catalonia Football Federation, joined the Spanish FA in May, after Luis Rubiales was appointed president.

According to the Spanish police statement, A. Subiesas was detained because he is suspected of being involved in embezzlement from the Catalonia Football Federation. It is estimated that around 51 million euros were embezzled.

Another member of the Catalonia Football Federation was also detained on Tuesday along with A. Subiesas.

Police also revealed that these are currently just suspicions.
