On Sunday, two more matches of the 16th round of the Spanish "La Liga" championship were played.
They were marked by the historic performance of Spanish football legend Joaquin. The 38-year-old footballer's hat-trick determined Sevilla's Real Betis victory over Bilbao Athletic.
Until these matches, the Basques showed the best defensive statistics among all teams in the league.
Joaquin scored all three goals in the first 20 minutes of the match. This was the first hat-trick of his 20-year career. He also became the oldest player to score three goals in a single "La Liga" match.
Later in the match, the Athletic team, which was attempting to come back, came close to spoiling Joaquin's celebration - Inaki Williams scored a goal in the 44th minute to reduce the deficit, and Yuri Berciche's goal in the 75th minute added to the suspense.
However, in the remaining time, the Real Betis team managed to hold on and achieved their third consecutive victory, moving up to the 11th position.
In other matches, Madrid's Getafe won by a narrow margin and pushed their neighbor Madrid Atletico down to the seventh place.
