On May 25 and 28, the 15th round of the Girls Elite League took place, after which the MFA "Žalgiris"-MRU seventeen-year-old team gained a four-point lead over the two closest rivals.
The central match of the round took place in Gargždai - the FK "Banga", competing for the medals, sought to defeat the division leaders. The start of the match was successful for the hosts, who took the lead after Austėja Jokubaitė's goal. However, in the first half, the Žalgiris players overturned the result with goals from Elinga Pampuškaitė, Žemyna Lekavičiūtė, and Emilija Gerasimovos. At the end of the match, Žemyna Lekavičiūtė added two more goals and secured her team's victory with a 5:1 score.
"Banga" dropped to third place after MFK "Žalgiris" overwhelmed FK "Vilnius" with a 9:0 victory, although they only scored once in the first half. In this match, Karina Klevinskaitė scored a hat-trick, Elzė Kiškūnaitė scored a double, and other goals were scored by Milda Ivanciūtė, Karina Frolova, Marta Lipnickaitė, and penalty taker Miana Svatkovskaja.
FK "Utenos Utenis", which still has hopes of reaching the top three, had no difficulties in Žagarė, where they scored 14 goals unanswered against the FK "Saned"-Joniškio SC team. Ugnė Kvartūnaitė was the author of six goals, while the most productive player of the division, Kamilė Medvedeva, added four goals to her tally. Airinga Anavičiūtė scored a double, while Julija Melaikytė and Gabija Viplentaitė each scored one goal.
The remaining match took place in the port city, where Klaipėdos FM and MFA "Bitės" played. The guests took the lead twice after goals from Ariana Lickūnaitė and Agata Marija Kairytė, but the hosts managed to equalize with goals from Mija Šmaižytė and Mileta Vitkutė - 2:2. In the penalty shootout, "Bitės" were more accurate with a 5:4 score and earned an additional point to move up from last place.
The next round of this division is scheduled for June 7 and 8 in Vilnius and Utena.
