Agent of Swedish player Henrik Larsson confirmed to journalists that his client may represent a team next year.
The Swedish national team forward stated that he would like to play in Spain, and decided to leave Glasgow Celtic after seven successful seasons at the club. The player said that he wishes for a warmer climate. One of Larsson's reasons for his decision was the desire to live in a warmer climate.
Larsson's agent Rob Jansen had met with Villareal president Juan Llaneza about his client and stated that negotiations had progressed.
To the English newspaper "The Sun", Jansen said: "Your information is correct. I was in Spain last Thursday and had met with Mr. Llaneza to discuss Larsson."
"What we discussed is confidential, but I can say that negotiations are moving in a positive direction," Jansen said.
Earlier this week, Jansen denied the possibility of Larsson representing a Spanish superclub next year: "We mentioned the possibility to them, but they didn't react at all. What else can we do?"
"It is very likely that Henrik will play in Spain next year," Jansen added. "For now, we have to wait for Henrik to decide in which club he wants to continue his career. In Spain, we have four offers."
