The Spanish club announced that after this season, they will acquire defender Roberto Ayala from the team and sign a three-year contract with him. They won't have to pay for the Argentine since his contract with Valencia will have expired.
One of the leaders of Valencia, Roberto Ayala, began his career in Europe in 1995 when he moved from River Plate in Buenos Aires to Italy and played for Napoli and Milan. The 33-year-old Argentine defender joined Valencia in 2000 and helped the team win the Spanish league titles in 2002 and 2004, as well as the UEFA Cup and Supercup in 2004.
Villarreal also announced that they are finalizing an agreement with the Chilean club Union Espanola for 19-year-old Chilean forward Matias Vidangossy. Last week, the Yellow Submarine signed a four-year contract with center-back Martin Caceres and loaned forward Jon Dahl Tomasson until the end of the season.
