Vilnius' Žalgiris missed a wonderful opportunity to defeat Hegelmann club.

The 30th match of the "TOPsport A League" started with a clash between two leading teams in the championship. The winner was undecided - Vilnius "Žalgiris" and Kaunas "Hegelmann" ended the match in a draw  1:1 (0:1).

The guests, who started the match sluggishly, were the first to score - a wonderful pass from Lazaro Kojičius pierced the entire Vilnius defense, and Patrikas Popescu, breaking free, did not miss and defeated Arpadas Tordai. A little later, Popescu took a free kick, which the goalkeeper managed to handle this time.

Liviu Antalis and Joris Moutachy both had header opportunities, but they fell slightly short of the target. After more than half an hour, Younnas Zahary made a significant error near his own goal, and Leo Ribeiro, who had a good chance to double the score, failed to take advantage of it.

In the 56th minute, Giedrius Matulevičius sent the ball into the penalty area, and Adama Fofana, who found space in front of the goal, netted it without hesitation. However, in the 67th minute, the Žalgiris players equalized the score - the ball came to Y. Zahari during the counterattack, and later, with the help of the goal frame, it found its way into the net.

In a dangerous moment in the 77th minute, A. Fofana shot from outside the penalty area near the rectangle, and already during added time, the guests made an error in their own box - A. Fofana, standing at the 11-meter mark, sent the ball over the crossbar.

After the 30th round of the "TOPsport A League" matches, both teams held onto their positions - the green and whites lead with 61 points, while the blue and whites, having played one match more, rank second with 56 points.
