In the capital, another match of the 6th round of the "TOPsport A League" took place, where representatives of the capital and Šiauliai tested their strength. Vilnius "Žalgiris" confidently defeated FA "Šiauliai" at their home ground - the Vilnius team celebrated victory at the LFF stadium with a score of 3:0 (1:0).
The home team started the duel more actively - they had several standard situations, Joel Bopesu took a shot on goal, later followed by Paulius Golubickas.
In the 17th minute, Nauris Petkevičius, one-on-one with the goalkeeper, had a great chance to score, but Arpadas Tordai saved his team from conceding a goal. In the 23rd minute, Gustas Baliutavičius saved Šiauliai when Liviu Antalis missed his opportunity after a good pass from P. Golubickas.
The goal for the guests came in the 31st minute - the ball from Paulius Golubickas reached Armin Hodžičius, who did not make a mistake and beat G. Baliutavičius.
In the 51st minute, L. Antalis passed the ball to Nikola Pekovičius, but G. Baliutavičius easily dealt with his attempt. Deivydas Dovydaitis had plenty of space and time to take a shot after playing for almost a month, but his attempt was blocked by the opponent.
Žalgiris doubled the score in the 67th minute, when Nikola Petkovičius, who appeared after a substitution, scored with a precise shot after a great pass from J. Bopesu. In the 90th minute, the Vilnius team sealed the deal: after a pass from Romualdas Jansonas, N. Petkevičius scored a double.
After the victory in the 6th round of the "TOPsport A League", Vladimiro Čeburinas' pupils rose to the first position in the tournament table, while Šiauliai representatives are in eighth place with 6 points.
